South West Recruitment is seeking a Permanent Sheet Metal Operative for a precision engineering manufacturer in Ferndown, Dorset. You will join a busy production team manufacturing high-quality components for demanding industries.

The ideal candidate has sheet metal experience, can read drawings, and works to exacting standards with a proactive approach. Ongoing training and a modern manufacturing environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings.
• Experience using sheet metal machinery and hand tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and fabricate sheet metal components from engineering drawings.
• Cut, fold, form and assemble sheet metal parts.
• Operate sheet metal machinery and related hand tools.
• Drilling, tapping, countersinking and finishing operations as required.
• Check components against drawings and quality standards.
• Work with stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel while meeting deadlines.
