Qualifications

The role

As a SHE Auditor, you’ll be at the forefront of driving excellence in health, safety and environmental standards across our operations. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the safety culture of a business that plays a vital role in national defence and engineering innovation.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead and deliver audits across a diverse and dynamic industrial environment—from submarines and surface craft to construction sites and infrastructure. Your work will directly support our certification to ISO45001 and ISO14001, helping us maintain the highest standards in SHE management.

  • Leading and participating in scheduled and ad-hoc audits across our SHE Management System
  • Reviewing documentation, processes, and operational tasks from planning to execution
  • Producing professional audit reports with evidence-based findings and agreed actions
  • Supporting stakeholders in developing and delivering improvement plans
  • Collaborating with the wider SHE Assurance Team to ensure audits are targeted and impactful

This role is full time, hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the SHE Auditor
  • Proven experience auditing or working with ISO45001 and ISO14001 certified SHE Management Systems
  • Practical SHE knowledge applied in industrial or operational settings
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Comfortable engaging with internal and external stakeholders across various mediums
Qualifications for the SHE Auditor
  • Current Auditor qualification or working towards one
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or Environmental Management Certificate (or equivalent) – Advantageous
  • Lead Auditor qualification – Desirable
  • Membership of IOSH, IEMA or CQI – Desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
