We have an exciting opportunity for a Sexual Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Foston Hall, a closed category women's Prison and Young Offenders Institution, located in the village of Foston in Derbyshire, England.

Hours

30 hours a week working on a rota basis, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm (flexible).

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £58,012 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As a Sexual Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Lead on promotion, assessment, and co-ordinating treatment for patients in all aspects of sexual health (plus contraception within female estate).
  • Ensure effective and consistent recognition of STI’s, symptomatic and asymptomatic screening, taking samples and managing laboratory pathways.
  • Co-ordinate all clinical activity in relation to sexual health and where applicable contraception, conduct STI screening.

Qualifications required
  • Registered Adult Nurse with current registration with NMC

  • Able to work autonomously as a registered professional by on-going assessment, planning, management and evaluation of care following best practice guidance

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
