Qualifications

• Previous experience operating an industrial sewing machine is essential.
• Overlocking experience is desirable.
• Good understanding of product assembly techniques.
• Ability to follow technical drawings, instructions and templates.
• Basic English communication skills and GCSE-level education (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Sew pre-cut components using drawings, templates, work instructions and samples.
• Overlock cut parts in line with specifications and training provided.
• Carry out rework and repairs where required.
• Maintain sewing machines and overlockers, ensuring equipment is clean, oiled and operating correctly.
• Report machine faults to the Team Leader.
• Follow manufacturing procedures to maintain quality and traceability standards.
• Support other production activities as required.

Sewing Machinist

Location: Southend-on-Sea

Salary: Up to £31,000 DOE

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join a global leader in aerospace component manufacturing. Working within a specialist production environment, you will be responsible for overlocking and sewing pre-cut materials into high-quality finished covers used within the aerospace industry.

This role would suit candidates with previous industrial machining experience who take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
