Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water in Pontypridd is seeking a permanent operational role to respond to sewerage incidents, undertake network maintenance, and work within a shift and standby rota to deliver excellent customer service. You will handle incidents, inspect sewer networks, jetting, planned and reactive maintenance, liaise with customers and stakeholders, and use CCTV looksee equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with initial customer responses to sewerage incidents across the business area.
  • Undertake sewerage network maintenance, both reactive and planned.
  • Work within shift rota and standby rota to deliver customer service.
  • Respond to customer incidents, clear blockages, jetting and provide feedback.
  • Sewer network inspections and jetting/flushing/desilting of sewers.
  • Planned and reactive maintenance of assets; liaise with customers and stakeholders.
  • Use CCTV equipment to assess asset condition and feed back through data systems.
  • Manage safety and risk, and comply with health and safety legislation.

What you’ll be responsible for

Dealing with our initial customer response to sewerage incidents across the business area, undertaking all aspects of sewerage network maintenance both reactively and planned, working within a shift rota as well as participating in standby rota to deliver exceptional customer service. This will include:

  • Responding to customer reported incidents and clearing blockages/jetting and providing detailed feedback on actions taken
  • Sewer network inspections (including Sewer connections)
  • Jetting/Flushing/De-silting of Sewers/Lone Working
  • Planned and reactive maintenance of assets
  • Liaison with customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to operate and assess asset condition utilising looksee CCTV equipment
  • Cleaning up affected area following flooding events
  • Surface water rebate inspections
  • The shift rota will involve weekend and evening work. You will be expected to comply with all current Health & Safety legislation and carry out your own risk assessments
  • You will receive job instructions via an electronic work management system and be expected to provide detailed feedback via the same route
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
