Job summary

EMPOWER is seeking a Sessional Youth Worker for the Recreation and Activity Area at HideOut and Salford Youth Zones in Manchester. You will help deliver engaging programmes, from pool and table tennis to debates on mental health and anti-bullying projects, while keeping the space safe and dynamic.

The role requires vigilance, positive role modelling, and the ability to create a fun environment where young people can explore big issues and have FUN.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of young people (8–19) and beyond is beneficial.
• Ability to supervise activities and manage behaviour in a lively youth environment.
• Comfortable facilitating a range of activities from sports to discussions on mental health and anti-bullying.

Responsibilities

• Help run and supervise the recreation and activity programme in the Youth Zone.
• Ensure young people have access to engaging activities and a safe, welcoming space.
• Maintain space and equipment, monitor behaviour, and contribute to creating a fun, dynamic atmosphere.
