Job summary

Loughborough College Group is recruiting a Sessional Lecturer in Elite Sports based at Loughborough College. You will develop curriculum and employ teaching, learning and assessment strategies to support learners progressing through sport talent pathways while delivering inspiring classes that help students succeed.

The role requires experience in elite sport and FE, a teaching qualification, and the ability to travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• Possess a teaching qualification.
• Extensive experience and vocational experience in further education.
• Experience in elite sport and high-performance environments.
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel to other locations.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills; able to work with partners.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sessional Lecturer in Elite Sports to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Loughborough College.

Loughborough College’s Elite Sport department is a highly successful department with over 2,000 learners.

The department offers a wide range of provision up to L4 qualifications, working nationally with a broad range of funded programmes that includes study programmes, apprenticeships, international, adult programmes and the Diploma in Sporting Excellence.

Responsibilities of this role include:

Developing both curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment strategies to support learners progressing through sport talent pathways

Deliver inspiring teaching and learning to ensure all students are supported to succeed

Monitor learner progress to ensure target grades are met and all learners achieve to the best of their ability

What we are looking for:

Possess a teaching qualification

Have extensive experience and vocational experience in further education

Have experience in elite sport and working in a high-performance environment

Possess a driving license and have access to a vehicle to travel as and when it is required to other work locations

Possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills

Work effectively with a range of partners

Possess excellent planning and administration skills and be able to work to deadlines

Knowledge of a range of teaching methodologies is essential including online based delivery
