Job summary

CHEC is seeking a sessional clinical photographer to run its clinical photography service, supporting diagnosis, patient records, teaching, research and publication.

The role involves producing medically and legally accurate images, obtaining informed patient consent, and leading quality improvement across the service in collaboration with NHS partners across ophthalmology, gastroenterology, ENT and dermatology.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in clinical photography or equivalent experience.
• Experience in clinical or medical photography producing high-quality images.
• Experience with audits, quality assurance or service development.
• Strong knowledge of consent, confidentiality, information governance and ethics.
• Excellent technical skills in digital photography, lighting and image processing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive clinical photography service.
• Produce high-quality images for diagnosis, records, education, research and publication.
• Produce medically and legally accurate images using advanced techniques.
• Obtain and document informed patient consent while maintaining ethical standards.
• Select techniques, equipment and lighting to capture clinical conditions accurately.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and service audits.
• Develop and enhance the clinical photography service.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external commissioning partners.
• Support adoption of new imaging technologies and best practices.
