Job summary

Aspion Search in the Northwest is seeking a Service Validation Engineer to service, validate and maintain cleanroom and containment equipment across UK hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities and laboratories.

The role involves HEPA testing, airflow measurements, and producing compliance documentation, with full UK travel, a company van, and ongoing manufacturer training. Working to HTM guidance and ISO 14644, you will support customers and ensure compliant operations.

Qualifications

  • Multiskilled engineer with mechanical and electrical fault finding experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience servicing and validating cleanroom or controlled environment equipment.
  • Experience with laminar flow cabinets, isolators, fume cupboards or cleanroom systems.
  • Strong knowledge of ventilation and cleanroom validation principles.
  • Experience in hospital, pharmaceutical, laboratory or GMP environments.
  • P601 qualification desirable.
  • Driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing, fault finding and maintaining cleanroom and containment equipment.
  • Carrying out HEPA filter integrity (DOP) testing.
  • Airflow balancing, volume measurements and air change rate calculations.
  • Testing laminar flow cabinets, isolators and microbiological safety cabinets.
  • Carrying out microbiological monitoring and surface contamination sampling.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and repairs.
  • Producing validation, service and compliance documentation.
  • Working in accordance with HTM guidance, BS EN ISO 14644, BS EN 12469:2000 and EU cGMP.
  • Providing technical support and on-site customer advice.

The Role of the Service Validation Engineer

The Service Validation Engineer will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, commissioning and validating cleanroom and controlled environment equipment across hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and laboratory environments.

Responsibilities of the Service Validation Engineer
  • Servicing, fault finding and maintaining cleanroom and containment equipment
  • Carrying out HEPA filter integrity (DOP) testing
  • Airflow balancing, volume measurements and air change rate calculations
  • Testing laminar flow cabinets, isolators and microbiological safety cabinets
  • Carrying out microbiological monitoring and surface contamination sampling
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and carrying out repairs where required

Requirements of the Service Validation Engineer

  • Over 3 years' experience servicing and validating cleanroom or controlled environment equipment
  • Experience working on laminar flow cabinets, isolators, fume cupboards, microbiological safety cabinets or cleanroom systems
  • Strong understanding of ventilation systems and cleanroom validation principles
  • Experience working within hospital, pharmaceutical, laboratory or GMP environments
  • P601 qualification (or working towards) is desirable
  • Good understanding of HTM guidance and cleanroom validation standards
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away when required
