Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Checkout Team Leader to drive the front end of our store operations, including checkouts, customer service, kiosks and car parks.

You will lead a friendly team, coach colleagues, ensure standards and legal obligations are met, and use store data to continually improve the checkout experience while minimising waste. A strong leader with a supportive style will thrive in this role.

More about the role

As a Checkout Team Leader, you're the driving force behind the front end of our store operations. You’ll bring a proactive approach, keeping things running smoothly across checkouts, customer service, kiosks, and car parks.

In this role, you’ll be on hand to:

• Be visible on the shop floor: Stay out front with your team, using headsets to jump in quickly, support colleagues, and keep queues moving so customers can get on with their day.
• Lead a friendly, helpful team: Build an encouraging team culture where colleagues feel trusted, listened to, and recognised for a job well done.
• Keep standards high, safe, and legal: Make sure all daily processes, cash handling, and legal obligations are followed properly every shift.
• Use data to make good calls: Look at store reports and dashboards to spot what’s working, fix problems quickly, and keep improving the checkout experience for everyone.
• Keep waste down: Help keep the department tidy and organised, making sure put-backs are handled promptly to minimise waste.
