Job summary

A reputable engineering solutions provider in the UK is seeking a Service and Repair Engineer to deliver comprehensive support for Auto-ID and industrial automation technologies. The role involves both office-based repairs and fieldwork including installations and maintenance at customer sites. Job description

As the Service and Repair Engineer, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end support for a diverse range of Auto-ID and industrial automation technologies. The role will require the engineer to divide their time between being office-based at the repair centre and performing configuration, testing, repair, and deployment of equipment and being field-based, which would require attending customer sites to conduct installations, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and on-site troubleshooting or repair of equipment, including complex automation systems.

What we would like from the Service and Repair Engineer:
  • Experience in a relevant technical role, such as field service or industrial automation
  • Strong technical and IT skills, with a good background in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Hands‑on experience with any of the following: AMRs, print and apply systems, Machine Vision, or FIS scanners, and working knowledge of device configuration for brands like Zebra, Honeywell, or Datalogic
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and diagnostic skills
  • A team player with a helpful, positive, calm, and methodical approach
