Job Title: Service Manager - Co-ordinated Help and Risk Intervention Service (CHRIS)

Location: Suffolk

Pay Rate: £41.86 – £50.07 per hour

About the Service

The Co-ordinated Help and Risk Intervention Service (CHRIS) provides short-term, intensive support to children and young people (under 18) experiencing severe emotional distress, self-harm risk, or suicidal ideation. The service aims to prevent escalation to crisis and hospitalization by delivering focused interventions and working collaboratively with families and professionals.

Purpose of the Role

The Service Manager will lead and oversee the CHRIS team, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based interventions are delivered to reduce risk and improve outcomes for vulnerable young people. This role involves operational management, safeguarding oversight, and partnership working across health, social care, and education sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Provide line management, supervision, and professional development for CHRIS staff.
    • Ensure effective team performance and adherence to service standards.
  • Service Delivery
    • Oversee the delivery of both Direct and Consultation pathways.
    • Ensure interventions are timely, appropriate, and outcome-focused.
  • Safeguarding & Risk Management
    • Maintain robust safeguarding practices and risk assessment processes.
    • Lead on complex case discussions and decision-making.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Manage staffing, rotas, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor service performance and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Represent CHRIS at multi-agency meetings and forums.
    • Build strong relationships with health, education, and social care partners.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
    • Prepare reports and contribute to strategic planning.
