Job description

An opportunity to work as the Service Manager role for Urology & Vascular within the GS-ACT division. We are looking for an effective motivated leader with proven service delivery experience in a fast paced environment who will approach this interesting and varied position with energy and enthusiasm. Main duties of the job: To provide timely, effective, proactive operational management support to Urology & Vascular services. Assisting the lead clinicians and senior managers as required and ensuring that the Department functions in a responsive, innovative way, and provides the highest possible clinical and performance standards. To support the Associate Director of Operations ensuring that all performance, finance and quality targets are achieved. Developing and implanting lasting solutions to challenges in conjunction with clinical and managerial colleagues. Efficient and effective use of resources to the highest standards of patient care and excellent service delivery. Full operational management of the clinical services, which includes performance against internal and national KPIs, clinical governance, financial management, service development and staff management. To make an effective contribution to reaching the Trusts vision, strategic objectives and key work programmes.

Education
  • Educated to Post Grad Diploma or Masters level and/or equivalent experience
Experience Essential
  • Project Management and CPD

  • Experience of implementing service change for improvement / quality / cost

  • Full range of IT skills, including data analysis and packages
  • Evidence of report writing and presenting skills incl business cases, clinical strategy
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written. Ability to influence decision making with senior clinical staff, able to demonstrate honesty, reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to travel between trust sites
  • Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the team, service and trust
