Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy from Waste company to recruit a Service Manager for its servicing division based in Leicestershire.

The Service Manager role comes with a starting salary of up to £80,000 + car allowance + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Service Manager role
  • Lead and manage the UK service team, ensuring efficient delivery of service projects, upgrades, and maintenance operations.
  • Collaborate with the UK Service Director and global teams to align strategies, share best practices, and drive service growth.
  • Promote and sell the full service portfolio including spare parts, mechanical/process retrofits, upgrades, and training to existing and prospective clients.
  • Plan and conduct customer visits to client facilities to identify opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
  • Identify, log, and track sales opportunities using CRM system; ensure data accuracy and drive pipeline development.
  • Oversee the execution of service projects, including outages and retrofits, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and compliant with HSE and Quality standards.
  • Support the development of new products and services by identifying market needs and providing customer feedback to the Product Management team.
  • Manage risk, cost, schedule, and stakeholder communication throughout service project lifecycles.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards in all service operations and foster a safety-first culture.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including audit reports, proposals, and post-service evaluations.
Professional qualifications
  • Degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant qualifications and experience in plant and mechanical engineering.
  • Proven experience in service sales and execution, including negotiating service agreements, overhauls, and spare part deliveries.
  • Strong project management skills, including risk, change, and stakeholder management with a track record of delivering technical service projects.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems for sales opportunity tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills, including the ability to conduct technical audits and write comprehensive service reports.
