The Opportunity

The Active Lives service supports adults with learning disabilities and autism to engage in a wide range of independence-focused activities. These sessions promote emotional and physical wellbeing and are delivered across three dedicated hubs and within the local community.

We are seeking a talented, passionate and experienced Service Manager to lead the Active Lives management team and be an integral member of the Provider Service Management Team. With three team leaders and a senior business support officer working directly to you the service supports approximately 75 people per day with 35 staff across three sites.

About You

We are looking for a confident and capable individual who brings:

  • A strong understanding and commitment to Person-Centred and Community-Led Support.
  • In-depth knowledge of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and autism, including young adults with complex support requirements.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, policies, standards, and initiatives within a local government context.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workloads-both your own and that of a large team-in a dynamic frontline environment.
  • A clear appreciation of the challenges and opportunities of working within an in-house provider service.
  • An understanding of the importance of collaborative working with wider teams and stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective service delivery across the Council.
