Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Service Maintenance Technician - Security across Yarmouth and Beccles areas. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on CCTV and security systems, ensuring safe, functional stores for customers and colleagues.

You’ll work with a team, prioritise safety, and contribute to high standards while representing the Tesco brand. Role requires a full driving licence, proven CCTV skills (analogue and IP), and experience in a retail setting.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• Proven CCTV installation, configuration and maintenance skills.
• Experience with analogue & IP CCTV systems.
• Retail environment experience desirable.
• Health & safety awareness essential.
• IOSH/ASBESTOS awareness desirable.
• Aptitude to coordinate with external contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Tesco sites are safe, functioning environments for customers and colleagues.
• Follow planned work schedules to achieve first-time fixes.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on security systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with external contractors to minimise customer disruption.
• Utilise mobile devices to update work status and communicate progress.
• Represent Tesco values and maintain professional appearance.
• Attend local and national meetings and provide feedback.
• Support an inclusive culture within the team.

You will be responsible for

• Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
• Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
• General day to day store and property maintenance.
• Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
• Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
• Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.

You will need

• Full Driving license
• Health & Safety awareness
• Proven Security-related technical skills - City & Guilds, apprenticeship
• CCTV (analogue & IP) experience (essential)CCTV qualification/certification (desirable)
• Ability to install, configure and maintain CCTV equipment to the relevant industry standards
• Experience working with the following systems: Hikvision, Pelco, Hanwha Techwin
• Experience of working in a retail environment (desirable)
• Administrative skills to include IT & Microsoft Office suite
• Customer/stakeholder escalation management
• Resource scheduling
• IOSH qualification (desirable)
• IPAF (desirable)
