A leading healthcare provider in England is seeking a dedicated part-time Call Handler for the Urgent Community Hub. This role involves providing vital support to nursing teams, handling calls with sensitivity, and ensuring accurate logging of patient details. Candidates should have relevant office experience, excellent English skills, and a background in NHS systems. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Call Handler to join our Urgent Community Hub within the division of Therapies, Dietetics and Community Services. Our service is available 24 hours, 365 days per year, to help keep patients at home and prevent unnecessary hospital visits or admissions. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of call handlers.
We are looking for someone with the following attributes to join our team:
You will provide efficient support to our Urgent Community Hub. As a Service Liaison Assistant you will work alongside our Nursing/Triage Team and colleagues to ensure that calls taken promptly and take essential details about patients conditions, location and logging the information accurately on our system. You will act as a main point of contact for patients and medical staff on behalf of the Urgent Community Hub, ensuring all queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous, caring and professional manner. It will be essential that you are able to work using your own initiative compatible with the role, work well with others, have patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and that you maintain confidentiality at all times.
You will be required to carry out all duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to both patients and our department.Having recent experience of working within a busy office environment, ideally within the NHS is required. You should have a good command of English and have a good working knowledge of Word and Excel. You should have experience in Electronic Patient Record. Medical terminology would be an advantage, and good inter-personal skills and an ability to prioritise your workload are required.
