Job description

As a Service Engineer

As a Service Engineer, you will carry out ongoing service, maintenance and repair work on a full range of industrial doors and loading bay equipment. You will work on both new and existing contracts, respond to customer breakdowns, and ensure high standards of service delivery at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and servicing loading bay products as directed by the Service team.
• Providing detailed breakdown and repair information to enable accurate quotations and invoicing.
• Making repair and replacement recommendations during PPM visits.
• Completing repair, testing and maintenance work alongside relevant documentation.
• Attending customer sites to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Liaising with sales staff to assist with ongoing issues.
• Delivering product training to customer representatives when required.
• Providing accurate verbal or written feedback on services delivered.
• Building strong customer relationships and following up on agreed actions.
• Assisting with the installation of new equipment nationwide.
• Identifying additional works on site and converting quotations to orders.

Who We're Looking For

• Based in the South of England.
• A recognised qualification in electrical, mechanical, welding, hydraulic, or equivalent experience (essential).
• Practical experience with industrial doors or loading bay equipment (desirable).
• Strong customer service skills and confidence recommending further works (training provided).
• Willingness to work away from home across the UK and take part in a 24-hour standby rota (1 week in 5).

Additional Pay

• Working away payment: £34.00 per evening
• Overtime at time and a half and double time (depending on days/times)
• On-call payment: £240.00 per week
• Commission: 2.5%-5% on converted spare-part quotations
