Job summary

Polkadotfrog is assisting a Suffolk-based client in finding a dedicated Service Engineer to service industrial or commercial machinery across the UK and internationally. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment with frequent travel and occasional training visits to the office.

The position offers a salary of £40,000–£45,000 plus a bonus and overtime expenses up to £10,000, highlighting a demanding but rewarding field.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, maintaining and repairing industrial or commercial equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and internationally, with regular client visits.

Responsibilities

• Complete installation, maintenance and service work.
• Perform site acceptance testing to ensure equipment is fully operational.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with service schedules.
• Provide ongoing remote technical support to clients.
• Complete detailed service reports including WO, scrap reports, timesheets, etc.
• Report any HS issues and inspect safety equipment.

Suffolk based client with a requirement to visit the office for training and team related events. Most of the time the role will require extensive travel across the UK and internationally

Polkadotfrog are thrilled to be supporting a fantastic company with their search for a dedicated and skilled Service Engineer with a background in industrial or commercial machinery.

As the Service Engineer, you’ll provide high-level service support in this role, including installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery/equipment. This role will involve travel within the UK and abroad, as well as regular visits to clients on a monthly basis.

Key responsibilities as the Service Engineer:

Completing installation, maintenance and service work, ensuring customer and company satisfaction

Performing site acceptance testing to ensure equipment is fully operational

Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with service schedules

Provide ongoing and remote technical support to clients

Completing detailed service reports including WO, scrap reports, timesheets etc.

Report any HS issues and inspect safety equipment

Key skills required:

Previous experience as a Service Engineer, servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial or commercial equipment

A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical systems and/or hydraulic systems

Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Flexibility this role requires overnight stays nationwide and worldwide travel

Full UK drivers licence

Valid passport
