The Service Engineer position is pivotal to our operations, providing technical expertise and on-site support to our valued clients. You will play a key role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing advanced engineering systems, ensuring optimum performance and customer satisfaction.   • Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery at client sites within the designated region.
  • Diagnose technical faults efficiently and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and offering technical advice and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including reports and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering and project teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times.

  • Demonstrable and significant experience working in a comparable Service Engineer role.
  • Strong demonstrable experience gained in an AV engineering type role such as wireless mic systems, basic mixers, zoned mixers, DSPs, amplifiers, public address systems, rack wiring, speakers (LowZ and 100v), TVs, HDMI solutions, projectors, interconnections, wiring, connector cable pin‑outs.
  • Knowledge and understanding working in service and technology fields such as RF/TV/Sat systems, effect lighting, access control, data networks, and automation.
  • Demonstrable appetite for continuous technical development to attain the breadth of skills of the Hutchi Service Engineer.
  • A technical mind‑set to logically assess an issue to pinpoint the fault.
  • Previous experience of using problem‑solving skills to find faults and provide high quality solutions.
  • Self‑motivated with a commitment to the issue at hand.
  • Able to read and understand AV system schematics and drawings.
  • Able to terminate cables to industry standard.
  • Understand PC based IP networks.
  • ECS - Electrotechnical Certification Scheme or equivalent.
  • Soldering proficiency, working with audio connectors and cables.
  • Able to work under pressure to tight timescales.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Presentable in appearance when on site.
  • Professional demeanour.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong technical learning ability.
  • Be highly mobile & flexible as a remote engineering covering a wider geographical region.
  • Be a natural problem solver able to draw on your own knowledge and skill, whilst knowing your own limits and willing to call on support as necessary to deliver the best fit outcomes for our customers.
  • Happy and willing to work alone for long periods.
  • Familiar with working in customer environments during their normal operational working, adapting your practices to ensure the presence of members of the public is taken into consideration and respected.
