Overview

A Service Engineer is required for a hugely successful OEM of ancillary equipment to the machine tool industry here in the UK. With over 50 years of trading within a niche market, they stand out head and shoulders above their competition by offering both product solutions and after-sales support. Their machinery and equipment are both recognised and highly regarded as the best in the industry, with showrooms in the UK and Europe, offering product training and demos. With a full team of support from both technical help-desk and in the field, customer satisfaction is paramount.

Benefits include a starting salary of £35 - £40K depending on experience, overtime during the week, Time & ½ at weekends, annual bonus scheme, company car or van fully expensed, credit card for field expenses, 32 days including bank holidays, company pension scheme, life insurance, laptop and brand new phone, and lots of product training on offer.

Responsibilities
  • Travelling to customers to carry out installation, repairs and servicing of the full product range
  • Full servicing of products which includes strip down and cleaning, testing, calibrating
  • Carrying out minor and major repairs, replacing worn parts as necessary
  • Providing on site customer support, demonstrations and product training
  • Ordering of spares and replacement parts from the office as needed
  • Overnight stays in hotels occasionally, with overnight allowances all paid for
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, devices and company property are maintained and looked after
Qualifications
  • Offer previous experience as a field service engineer or technician, repairing of industrial machine tools
  • Possess both electrical and mechanical fault finding skills, including PLC interrogation
  • Be able to use field equipment such as multimeters, testing devices, oscilloscopes etc
  • Ideally be based in the Midlands as the client have a large client base in the Midlands, as well as overnight stays in hotels when required
  • Clean UK Drivers License
