Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rhondda Cynon Taf to assist with the appointment of a Service Engineer, on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.47 - £17.64 per Hour

Hours Per Week: 28.00

Summary

The In-House Service Engineer will provide a high-quality, efficient, and effective diagnostic, testing, and repair service for assistive technology and community equipment. The role ensures that all equipment both fixed and portable is serviced, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards, supporting independent living for customers and contributing to the delivery of a safe and reliable Community Equipment Service across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct electrical, mechanical, and functional testing, servicing, and repair of assistive technology and mobility equipment.
  • Safely operate and maintain a range of diagnostic and testing tools, including electrical testing equipment and load-testing devices.
  • Accurately record all test, service, and repair results using both electronic and paper-based systems.
  • Ensure all work adheres to relevant health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Maintain accurate stock control of spare parts, equipment, and consumables.
Essentials
  • Proven experience in diagnostic testing, servicing, or repair within a technical or engineering environment.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused service environment.
  • Knowledge of mobility and healthcare products.
  • Knowledge of testing procedures for community or assistive equipment.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation related to equipment testing and servicing.
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety practices and risk assessment procedures.
  • Ability to plan and manage own workload effectively to meet service targets.
  • Competence in using a range of IT systems for recording and reporting purposes.
