Job description

Service Engineer

£30,000 to £45,000 + overtime pay + company credit card + pool vehicle

Have you ever loved a challenge so much that you can't put it down until you've solved it?

That's the life of a Service Engineer here.

One day you could be in Spain fixing a breakdown, the next you're back at base in the UK talking a customer through fault finding over Teams. Sometimes you'll be face-to-face, other times you'll be guiding someone whose first language isn't English through a tricky issue... no two days are ever the same, and you are working for a company where the applications can be used in a huge variety of industries.

This isn't about routine maintenance alone, as a Service Engineer you'll be stripping machines down, working through electrical drawings like a maze, finding the problem at its core, and putting everything back together again.

You'll train customers, install kit, demonstrate at events, and make sure downtime is kept to a minimum.

What makes it work?

The team...There are three of you plus your manager, and the culture is all about mucking in together.

Yes, you'll travel, but the load is shared, and family comes first, if you're away one week, the next could be spent closer to home troubleshooting or training.

You'll have everything you need, a company credit card so you're never out of pocket, pool cars with mileage covered if you use your own, and all the tools, laptop and tablet provided, and if you're ever needed on a weekend, you'll get your day rate plus an extra £100 on top.

To thrive here as a Service Engineer, you'll need to :

Be confident fault finding with electrical equipment

See electrical drawings as a puzzle to be solved, not a headache

Enjoy pulling something apart, finding the fault, and putting it back together

Be adaptable enough to work abroad or in the UK, sometimes at short notice

Have a driving licence, passport, and a genuine love of solving problems

The salary on offer here is between 30,000 - 45,000 and that all depends on what experience you are bringing to the table.

There are so many benefits to working here, too many to list them all. But they include 25.5 days holiday plus bank holidays, health cover, pension, death in service, proper training and even peer-to-peer recognition schemes. And if you're looking for progression, the door is open, whether that means moving into management one day or simply becoming the best Service Engineer you can be, the support is there for both.

You might have been a Maintenance Engineer, Service Engineer elsewhere, or even ex-military. What matters is your ability to troubleshoot, use initiative, and keep customers moving.

This Service Engineer role is one where variety really is the norm... one week could be overseas, the next could be on the phone helping someone get back up and running.

If you're someone who gets a buzz from solving problems and wants to be part of a team that has each other's backs, this one is for you.
