Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a long-established and well-respected company seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join their expanding field service team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air compression systems across client sites. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality technical service in line with industry regulations and safety protocols. You'll be joining a collaborative team where your expertise will directly impact equipment performance, customer satisfaction, and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine servicing and reactive maintenance on air compressor units and associated systems
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • Complete service reports, timesheets, and job-related documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate clearly with clients and your team regarding job status and requirements
  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve breakdowns efficiently
  • Maintain and care for all issued tools, PPE, and service equipment
  • Support less experienced colleagues and contribute to mentoring and team knowledge-sharing
  • Participate in emergency on-call rota when scheduled
Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements
  • Proven field service engineering experience, ideally with mechanical/electrical systems
  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent engineering training
  • Confident in working independently on remote sites
  • Sound understanding of health & safety practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Flexible approach to working hours and job demands
  • Comfortable working both on planned tasks and short-notice call-outs
