Job summary

A leading IT services firm based near Salisbury is seeking a 1st Line Support Engineer. The role involves supporting IT services, managing incoming calls, and ensuring prompt resolution of IT incidents. Candidates must have experience with ITIL v3/v4, desktop support, and excellent communication skills. The position requires SC Security Clearance, with a competitive rate of £220 per day and the possibility of hybrid working after 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge and experience with ITIL v.3 or v.4.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Knowledge of Intune and antivirus software.
  • Experience in desktop installation and hardware support.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain IT services for users via the IT Service Desk.
  • Handle and manage incoming calls to the IT Service Desk.
  • Log incidents and service requests within the Service Management tool.
  • Resolve IT incidents and service requests efficiently.

Skills

Experience with ITIL v.3 or v.4
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Intune
Experience with antivirus software
Desktop installation knowledge

Job Summary

Do you live in the Salisbury area with recent 1st Line Support Engineer, Helpdesk analyst, Service desk, Desktop Support experience with a good knowledge of ITIL v.3/v.4.

Location & Security Clearance

To work in an SC Security Cleared environment. You will currently hold SC/DV Clearance, or be eligible to undertake. The client will sponsor SC clearance if not already held. Base near Salisbury, Wiltshire, South West. Must live within no more than an hour commute to site.

Contract Details

Rate 220 p/d Inside IR35/Umbrella. ASAP, 6 months initially. 5 days on site then possibly moving to hybrid working.

Responsibilities

You will be supporting and maintaining IT services and providing support to users via the IT Service Desk whilst handling and managing incoming calls to the IT Service Desk and logging within the Service Management tool. Ensuring all IT incidents and service requests are resolved in a fast and efficient manner and recorded to the appropriate level.

Essential Skills
  • Good knowledge and experience with ITIL v.3 or v.4.
  • Microsoft Office and moving towards Windows 10, Windows 11 beneficial.
  • Intune.
  • Antivirus software knowledge.
  • Desktop installation knowledge.
  • ITIL V3 Foundation.
  • Supporting desktops PC's including hardware.
  • Software licensing, in particular Microsoft Volume Licensing (Desirable).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required, must have the ability to work alone and as part of a team, working to right deadlines.
