What you'll be doing:

As a Service Designer / User Experience (UX) Hybrid at Tangity, you'll play a key role in shaping human‑centred experiences across sectors such as banking, insurance, and public services, working within agile, cross‑functional teams. With 8+ years of experience in service design, UX, or user research, you'll bring expertise in understanding user needs and translating complex business and organisational challenges into clear, actionable design solutions.

You'll lead end‑to‑end design and research activities, from framing challenges and synthesising insights to developing service blueprints, prototypes, and journey maps that drive strategic decisions. Working closely with designers, researchers, and product teams, you'll ensure solutions are inclusive, accessible, and grounded in evidence and user insight.

Applicants must be clearable and be able to demonstrate their work through a portfolio.

What experience you'll bring:
Must Have:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in service design, user experience, or human‑centred design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic impact, storytelling, and end‑to‑end delivery across digital and service experiences
  • Proven expertise in user‑centred design principles, service design methods, and research methodologies
  • Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with designers, researchers, and developers
  • Skilled in planning, facilitating, and synthesising research and design activities independently
  • Able to translate insights into actionable design concepts and influence decision‑making at all levels
  • Confident in facilitating workshops, co‑design sessions, and engaging senior stakeholders
  • Familiar with accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and inclusive design and research practices
  • Eligible for SC clearance (British citizen or equivalent, with 5 years of continuous UK residency)
Nice to Have:
  • Experience working with or alongside the UK public sector or to GDS (Government Digital Service) standards
  • Exposure to digital service delivery, design systems, and cross‑channel experience design
  • Degree in Service Design, UX, HCI, Psychology, or a related discipline
