Overview

We are seeking an experienced engineer to provide service design support for a 6‑12 month period. The role will focus on mapping and analysing end‑to‑end service journeys associated with functional and physical weapons integration. This work will help inform and optimise system‑level design, integration pathways, and service support models. Additional scope will be defined as the programme evolves.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or support end‑to‑end service journey mapping for functional and physical weapons integration.
  • Identify and document system touchpoints, dependencies, and interfaces across engineering, logistics, and operational domains.
  • Map and analyse data and software integration pathways, ensuring alignment with service design principles.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, design authorities, and service stakeholders to ensure a coherent service architecture.
  • Support development of service requirements, design artefacts, and lifecycle support documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of service design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Background in systems engineering, service design, or integration engineering within defence, aerospace, or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience with end‑to‑end journey mapping and service architecture development.
  • Understanding of weapons or mission system integration desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with MOD, DE&S, or defence engineering frameworks advantageous.
