Large-Scale Transformation Programme | London or Bristol | Hybrid (2–3 Days Onsite)
Rates: Excellent (we can disclose rates at candidate's application stage)
Contract: Until March 2026 (extension highly likely)
Start: ASAP
Location: London (preferred) or Bristol

A unique opportunity to support one of the UK’s largest Defence Modernisation Initiatives. You will play a key role within a multi‑year programme modernising critical corporate services used by more than 250,000 personnel across Defence. This includes transformation of HR, Finance, Procurement, Shared Services, and digital capabilities – fundamental enablers of operational effectiveness. Your work will directly contribute to improving how Defence functions day‑to‑day, supporting frontline capability through better systems, data, processes, and decision‑making.

You will be embedded within a central programme delivery team, responsible for shaping, maintaining, and driving workstream plans across a major ERP‑enabled transformation. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused leadership role – not programme admin or oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain detailed workstream delivery plans aligned to the integrated programme schedule.
  • Work directly with Programme Directors and senior leaders to track progress, highlight issues, and guide delivery decisions.
  • Lead RAIDS management – ensuring risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and constraints are clearly understood and mitigated.
  • Produce weekly progress reporting and communicate impacts across the programme.
  • Ensure alignment across MSP master schedules, JIRA structures, and plan‑on‑a‑page artefacts.
  • Conduct change impact assessments from a schedule and planning perspective.
  • Support teams to break down complex work into clear, manageable packages.
  • Maintain documentation of milestones, deliverables, and stage‑gate criteria.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Extensive experience delivering planning within large‑scale ERP / transformation programmes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud delivery methodologies.
  • High proficiency in MSP and JIRA (ability to build plans from scratch).
  • Deep experience managing RAIDS in complex delivery environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder influencing skills across ambiguous, multi‑supplier landscapes.
  • Ability to interpret complex information and present it clearly.
  • Experience working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Who This Role Will Suit
  • Ex‑military professionals who have moved into programme planning, transformation, PMO leadership, IT delivery or ERP environments.
  • Senior planners or delivery managers with hands‑on leadership in complex programmes.
  • Individuals who thrive in structured, mission‑driven environments and enjoy coordinating multiple moving parts.
What We Are Looking For
  • We are not seeking PMO administrators or reporting‑only roles.
  • General programme managers without strong planning experience.
  • Candidates with only client‑side oversight or only Oracle upgrade experience.
