Service Charge Officer

Ealing

Full Time, Temporary

Support residents and manage service charge accounts for a leading housing association in Ealing, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and high-quality customer service.

THE ROLE

As a Service Charge Officer, you will play a key role in the Service Charge Action and Resolution Team (SCART), resolving customer queries and supporting the delivery of accurate and transparent service charge information.

  • Resolving resident service charge queries promptly and liaising with operational teams, local authorities, and external managing agents.
  • Supporting the production of accurate service charge estimates, in-year block accounts, and year-end accounts to ensure strong financial performance.
  • Maintaining full, clear, and accurate records of all customer interactions.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to ensure high-quality services across estates and buildings.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the Group at meetings and forums.
  • Staying up to date with building safety, service charge, and leasehold legislation.
  • Supporting policy, procedure, and work practice updates to continually improve service delivery.
THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking a candidate with experience in service charge or leasehold management within a housing association or property management setting.

  • Knowledge of legal aspects of leasehold law, including Sections 20 and 20b, and experience preparing cases for Tribunal or Court (desirable).
  • Understanding of Landlord and Tenant Acts, Statutory Instruments, and relevant regulations.
  • Experience in leasehold block management and working with managing agents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
THE CONTRACT

Working Hours: 35 Hours per Week

Length of Contract: 3 Months, 9-5 Mon to Fri

Rate: The pay range for the role is £23.09 to £24.30 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £19.81 to £20.85 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
