Main duties of the job

The Service Centre Team Leader is responsible for the day to day leadership of friendly, professional teams ensuring that vehicle and equipment maintenance is carried out to the highest standards.

As a Team leader you will ensure that we meet the maintenance and service plans against agreed departmental KPIs and job cycle times.

The successful candidates will manage the implementation and delivery of a continuous improvement and workplace methodology for fleet maintenance activities.

You will demonstrate compassionate and collaborative leadership, supporting a diverse team, whilst having a keen eye for detail and a desire to help grow and improve the Fleet and Equipment service across a geographically large area.

Person Specification

Education and qualifications

• HND in Mechanical/Electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent/similar qualifications, OR knowledge demonstrated at equivalent standard gained through relevant experience/training. Working towards gaining relevant qualifications.
• Full driving license held for at least one year with no current endorsements.
• Managerial or supervisory qualification
• IOSHH health and safety qualification
• Membership of a professional vehicle institution
• Significant experience of managing staff at all levels
• Experience of working in busy service centre, workshop or vehicle preparation sites unsupervised and with flexible/shift working patterns
• Experience of developing and implementing policy
• Significant experience in area of expertise.
• Experience of Working to targets and KPI\'s
• Previous NHS ambulance experience
• Experience in carrying out vehicle/equipment maintenance/preparation
