Job summary

Detour American Grille & Bar - Southport is hiring a server to provide attentive food and beverage service. You will take and transmit orders via the POS, deliver meals, and ensure guests are satisfied throughout their visit.

The role requires clear English communication, a courteous demeanor, and the ability to stand for extended periods. Applicants should be at least 18, possess a Food Worker Card, and have prior serving experience where possible.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Food Worker Card required.
• Prefer a minimum of one year of previous serving experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Must have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Service of food and/or beverage including taking orders, delivering, and clearing items.
• Check station before, during, and after shift for setup and cleanliness.
• Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain specials/promotions.
• Take orders and input into the POS to inform kitchen of order details.
• Retrieve orders from kitchen, verify accuracy, and deliver to guests.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.
• Comply with all regulations and liquor policies regarding alcohol service to minors or intoxicated guests.

• Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness
• Greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness
• Takes the order and inputs the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars of the order
• Retrieves order from kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests
• Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
• Abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
