We’ll value you for who you are and what you bring. We support each other and push boundaries to achieve incredible things and make a real difference to our clients and communities.

We're always looking to support our colleagues to work in a way that works best for them and everyone else, including our clients, the business and the regulators. Please speak to a member of our Recruitment and Onboarding team for more information.

Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

Head, spinal cord and other serious injuries, such as those resulting in amputation, blindness and orthopaedic treatment, can be life changing. Serious injuries affect our clients in different ways such as their family life, employment opportunities, healthcare needs and everyday quality of life. These claims are by nature hugely traumatic and have to be handled with the utmost care and expertise. Our serious injury solicitors pride themselves on making a real difference and we can help clients to live their life as fully as possible after a serious injury. We have years of experience helping people claim compensation for serious injuries and have specialist teams across the UK.

This is a hybrid role, working 3 days per week in our Leeds office.

He also leads the firm's Personal Injury Professional Negligence team, advising clients on claims against solicitors and barristers arising from the negligent handling of personal injury and clinical negligence matters.

As a Paralegal you will play an integral role in the team, working together with qualified fee earners to provide legal support on a number of cases to deliver an outstanding client experience. You will be responsible for ensuring that client queries are dealt with quickly, efficiently and with empathy, taking appropriate actions. You will work independently under supervision and as part of a team to progress cases in accordance with the department’s procedures to meet agreed personal targets.

You’ll liaise regularly with a wide range of clients and medical professionals, in person, over the phone and in writing. Whether arranging meetings, seeking medical reports and chasing information, you’ll need to show a sensitive and professional approach at all times.

Your role will involve, but is not limited to:
  • Assisting fee earners to progress cases both from a legal and rehabilitation perspective. As part of this you will liaise with clients, review documents, help with witness statements, attend client meetings, conferences and joint settlement meetings.
  • Achieve time recording and fee income targets to ensure profitable working.
  • Attend and contribute to team/practice area meetings and comply with directions/decisions made to ensure team objectives achieved.
  • Keep up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attend appropriate training events to ensure up to date legal knowledge and best practice.
