Job summary

A specialist SEN school environment in Sutton is seeking a compassionate Learning Assistant to help pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities access sensory learning, communication and everyday school life.

Role involves one-to-one and small-group support, sensory approaches, moving and handling tasks where trained, and recording progress. QTS is not required for this classroom-support position; the assignment is temporary and paid under PAYE in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN, education, health or care is desirable.
• Observant and respectful demeanor.
• Willing to complete role-specific moving and handling training; QTS is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support throughout the day.
• Use sensory approaches and communication systems directed by teachers and therapists.
• Support mobility, positioning, and personal care where trained and authorised.
• Notice and record small but meaningful changes in engagement and progress.
• Promote comfort, dignity, safety and positive participation.
