20 days’ annual leave plus 3 concessionary days and bank holidays
Based at our office in St Paul’s Cray, with regular travel to locations in Chislehurst and the surrounding areas of the London Borough of Bromley.
For over 20 years, Chislehurst Youth for Christ has been making a difference to young people across the London Borough of Bromley. We’re looking for a Senior Youth Worker to lead our youth team and shape our work with young people in the years ahead. If you’re passionate about seeing young people’s lives changed by Jesus, this could be the role for you.
Working closely with the CEO, you’ll play a key part in developing and growing our youth work. You’ll lead and develop our youth team and our programme of activities, using your faith, experience and skills to share God’s love in relevant and practical ways across our community.
You’ll be a supportive manager who can lead and develop our youth team as they run existing activities and launch new ones. A confident communicator, you’ll connect easily with young people and understand the challenges and opportunities they face. You’ll think creatively and strategically about how we can increase our impact through our work in schools and churches and our partnerships with other organisations. You’ll bring solid face-to-face youth work experience, matched by an organised, well-planned approach.
We exist to see young people’s lives changed by Jesus in relevant and practical ways. We work in the community, in schools and with churches, funded mainly by our 2gether charity shop on Chislehurst High Street. We are a registered charity (1122523) and part of the national Youth for Christ movement. Our vision is to keep broadening our reach across the borough, working closely with churches and other organisations that share our heart for young people.
There is a genuine occupation requirement that the post holder is a committed Christian in accordance with Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. The appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
