Job summary

Chilypep is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead the Sheffield element of our youth work and South Yorkshire voice projects. You will work closely with the CEO and senior colleagues to drive strategy, service planning and staff wellbeing.

The role requires deep youth work understanding, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage budgets, governance and regulatory compliance. Flexible base with Sheffield/Barnsley duties and pro rata salary expectations.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of youth work principles and practice.
• Qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Education or Community Development (e.g. UK JNC) or equivalent.
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding practices.
• Strong understanding of organisational management and development including governance, compliance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Sheffield youth work teams and the Voice & Influence portfolio, ensuring wellbeing and workload balance.
• Supervise and develop staff, and manage recruitment where required.
• Line manage Programme and Project Coordinators for Sheffield/South Yorkshire projects and monitor delivery plans.
• Provide clear leadership, mentorship and staff support to volunteers and teams.
• Foster an inclusive team culture and high standards of youth participation and engagement.
