ABOUT THE VILLAGE BY STYLIST

The Village by Stylist is a new quarterly digital magazine dedicated to parenting. It will be a place for honesty, shared experiences, expert advice and candid conversations about the realities of parenthood. ABOUT THE ROLE
Overall objective:

As Senior Writer, you will originate and write compelling features and news stories with a parenting/motherhood angle for Stylist. You will ensure all content is accurately written to brief and on deadline and is targeted to our intelligent, female-identifying audience and the aspirational advertisers wishing to reach them. In addition, you will monitor all work using data platforms to ensure key digital targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities:
  • Generate forward-thinking, exciting and exclusive ideas, and see them through from pitch to publication
  • Ideate, write and publish content across all Stylist's digital verticals: the website, our newsletters and social media
  • Write content for digital and print magazines and commercial requests, as required
  • Apply thorough SEO knowledge to all digital content published and monitor everything to get the widest reach possible
  • Monitor your work post-publication, and to strive to hit personal and website-wide KPI targets
  • Create video and static content for Stylist's social feeds, appearing in the content when required
  • Maintain Stylist's competitive advantage in publishing the most relevant and timely stories
Secondary objectives:
  • Stay abreast of all competitor activity and innovation across all platforms
  • Use forward planning tools and insights to ensure Stylist content remains ahead trends, events and cultural moments
  • Ensure there is adequate cover and a thorough handover when on annual leave
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a journalist or writer, ideally with a focus on parenting, lifestyle or women's media
  • Strong digital publishing skills, including SEO, CMS and social media content creation
  • A keen understanding of Stylist's tone, audience and editorial values
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Confident in using data to inform content strategy and performance
  • Comfortable creating multimedia content, including video and appearing on camera when needed
  • A proactive, ideas-driven mindset with a passion for storytelling that informs, inspires and empowers
