Job summary

A buy-side investment firm is seeking a Windows Engineer to support its mission-critical Windows infrastructure in London. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows Server and Active Directory, with a focus on automation using PowerShell. Responsibilities include developing the Windows Server estate and managing core identity services, all while collaborating closely with infrastructure and cloud teams. Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience as a Windows Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
• Active Directory experience required.
• PowerShell exposure for automation needed.
• Experience with patching, monitoring, and server lifecycle management.
• Solid understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, and authentication flows.
• Comfortable in high-availability environments.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop the Windows Server estate across on-prem and cloud.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity services.
• Contribute to upgrades and lifecycle management initiatives.
• Automate operational tasks using PowerShell.
• Support security hardening, patching, and compliance.
• Collaborate on infrastructure projects with various teams.
• Troubleshoot complex Windows-related incidents.
• Produce documentation and contribute to operational best practices.
