Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust Greenwich MHST seeks to appoint an enthusiastic practitioner with proven MHST clinical experience to deliver early intervention for children and young people in school settings.

The post offers a development path toward Senior practice and includes supervision of CWPs or EMHPs, supporting access to mental health care for diverse young people in line with CYP-PT principles.

Qualifications

Qualified practitioner with MHST experience.
Commitment to CYP-PT principles and young people.
Ability to supervise CWPs or EMHPs from SWP year 2.

Responsibilities

To provide an evidenced based service for children and young people as part of early identification and intervention for emotional and mental health needs.
To provide advice, support and knowledge of resources for emotional wellbeing of children and their families.
To take responsibility for liaising with Practice Leads within the team and other Practitioners, to support clinical governance, risk and safety protocols and best practice principles.
To support development and delivery of psychoeducational workshops, webinars and groups for young people, parents/carers and school staff.
To work across agencies to develop a co-ordinated response to children and young people's mental health needs.
Encourage user-involvement and co-production in improving data returns for evaluations to inform service development.
To work alongside others to implement the early intervention role to meet mental health needs of children and young people.
To provide supervision to CWPs or EMHPs (from second year of SWP programme).

Job description

Greenwich MHST seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who are passionate about mental health support in schools, with a demonstrable track record of MHST clinical experience. The post holder will contribute further to the development of early intervention and prevention service in Greenwich CAMHS. The post represents a development opportunity for a qualified practitioner, who is committed to the principles of CYP-PT to further their career into a Senior practice role. In addition to managing their own caseload, the post holder will be expected to provide supervision to CWPs or EMHPs. The post-holder will work with young people from diverse backgrounds and should be committed to diversity and ensuring access to services for all.

Main duties of the job

To provide an evidenced based service for children and young people as part of early identification and intervention for children and young people with emotional and mental health needs
To provide advice, support and knowledge of appropriate resources for the emotional wellbeing of children and their families
To take responsibility for liaising with Practice Leads within the team and other Practitioners, to support effective clinical governance, risk and safety protocols and best practice principles to support continuous improvement and young person-centred care
To support development and delivery of psychoeducational workshops, webinars and groups for young people, parents/carers and school staff
To work across agencies to develop a co-ordinated response to children and young people's mental health needs
Encourage user-involvement and co-production in furthering best practices and striving for quality assurance in data returns for qualitative and quantitative service evaluations to inform and improve further service development
To work alongside others to demonstrate knowledge and skills to plan and critically evaluate the implementation of the early intervention role to meet the mental health needs of children and young people
To provide supervision to CWPs or EMHPs (from second year of SWP programme).
