The Economist Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Web Fullstack to design and build high-quality web products and the services that power them. In this role, you will work across frontend and backend systems, shaping reliable, scalable solutions that serve a global audience.

You will operate at the intersection of product, platform, and engineering, contributing not only to delivery but also to technical direction.

Qualifications

• Experience building production web applications with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React/Next.js).
• Experience designing and developing APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native system design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable web applications across the stack.
• Develop responsive, accessible frontends using modern frameworks such as React and Next.js.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs that support product features and integrations.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to shape solutions end-to-end.
