Job summary
Stantec seeks a Senior Water Network Modeller to lead water network modelling across the UK, based in London or Reading with hybrid working. You will drive project delivery, calibrate hydraulic models and mentor junior engineers.
You'll work with InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWater Pro and Synergi Water to develop sustainable solutions, support investment planning, and enhance network resilience for UK water customers.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering water network modelling projects within the UK water sector.
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard modelling software such as InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWater Pro, Synergi Water or equivalent.
- Experience leading the technical delivery of modelling projects.
- Good understanding of network optimisation, leakage management and pressure management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior engineers or modellers.
Responsibilities

- Delivering studies relating to network optimisation, leakage reduction, pressure management and network resilience.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, Project Managers and clients to develop practical and sustainable engineering solutions.
- Supporting project planning, technical reviews and the delivery of high-quality modelling outputs.
- Mentoring junior modellers and sharing technical knowledge across the wider team.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of modelling processes and digital delivery.

We're looking for a Senior Water Network Modeller to join our growing team in London or Reading. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the technical delivery of water network modelling projects while working alongside recognised industry specialists on some of the UK's most significant water infrastructure programmes. With a strong pipeline of work, access to national and international expertise and a collaborative environment, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your technical skills while helping shape the future of water network modelling.
As a Senior Water Network Modeller, you'll lead the delivery of water network modelling projects across a wide range of clean water programmes, supporting clients from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed analysis and investment planning.
- Leading the technical delivery of water network modelling projects across multiple frameworks.
- Developing, calibrating and analysing hydraulic models using industry-standard software such as InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWater Pro, Synergi Water or equivalent.
- Delivering studies relating to network optimisation, leakage reduction, pressure management and network resilience.

Your work will help water companies make informed investment decisions that improve network resilience, reduce water loss and deliver reliable water supplies for communities across the UK. Through high-quality modelling and technical expertise, you'll support the development of smarter, more sustainable water networks that address future environmental and operational challenges.
Beyond project delivery, you'll help strengthen our modelling capability by mentoring colleagues, promoting best practice and supporting the adoption of innovative digital tools. Your contribution will play an important role in delivering engineering excellence and maintaining Stantec's reputation as a trusted partner within the UK water sector.

- Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership.
- Experience using GIS platforms such as ArcGIS.
- Experience with water balance studies, digital solutions or advanced data analytics.
- Experience working on UK regulated water company frameworks.
