A luxury hotel in Windermere is seeking a Senior Waiter to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Michelin-starred dining, a deep understanding of food and wine, and strong communication skills. In this role, you will lead your section with confidence and deliver exceptional service to enhance the guest experience. Join the team behind one of the Lake District’s most exciting culinary destinations. SOURCE at the Gilpin, led by Executive Head Chef Ollie Bridgwater (formerly of The Fat Duck), offers a Michelin-starred, 4 AA Rosette experience rooted in exquisite produce, bold flavours, and precise execution. We’re looking for a Senior Waiter who shares our passion for friendly, exceptional service and storytelling throughout the culinary journey.
Your Role as Senior Waiter:
Leads the section with confidence, grace, and meticulous attention to detail.
Delivers seamless, warm and personalised service that enhances the guest journey.
Collaborates closely with the kitchen, sommeliers, and front-of-house team to create unforgettable moments.
Maintains impeccable standards of presentation and etiquette.
Contributes to a culture of excellence, learning, and genuine care.
Uphold the highest standards of etiquette, presentation, and professionalism.
What You Bring:
Experience in Michelin-starred or fine dining environments.
Deep understanding of food, wine, and service protocol.
A calm, charismatic presence and a genuine love for hospitality.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A desire to grow within a forward-thinking, modern restaurant built around using local produce with a twist.
Salary: from £29,250 to £31,005
Gratuities are allocated on a points basis, depending on development tiers. Although variable, average levels are projected as being from £370 to £550 per month.
