Job summary

UK Home Office in Sheffield/Salford is seeking a Vulnerability Management professional to lead identification, risk assessment and remediation across a large government network.

You will join a team of cyber professionals to identify, triage and remediate vulnerabilities, with a focus on effective reporting and stakeholder communication. The role supports continuous improvement and operates within a hybrid model requiring 60% office presence.

Qualifications

• Driving improvements in vulnerability management processes with security and tech teams.
• Conducting vulnerability assessments using recognised frameworks and prioritising risk.
• Implementing and operating vulnerability management tooling for data-driven risk insights.
• Managing security risk with stakeholders to achieve secure outcomes.
• Communicating complex vulnerability risk clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Coordinating incident response activities in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Vulnerability Identification – lead identification and classification of vulnerabilities in systems, apps and networks.
• Risk Assessment – analyse scan results and determine severity and impact.
• Remediation Planning – collaborate with departments to propose remediation plans and configuration changes.
• Reporting – create and present detailed vulnerability reports for stakeholders.
• Incident Management – work with security teams to manage prioritised vulnerabilities.
• Tool management – understand tooling for large-scale infrastructure vulnerability assessments.
• Vulnerability Management Service – onboard assets into the appropriate tooling and align with policies.
