An educational organization in Northern Ireland seeks a Senior Videographer to lead and produce high-quality video content. The ideal candidate will develop innovative digital strategies to promote educational projects while working closely with schools and youth services. Responsibilities include managing video production, creating engaging content for various platforms, and supporting internal communication efforts. Responsible for: The Senior Videographer will be responsible for leading the production of high quality professional video content to support a wide and diverse range of Education Authority(EA) strategic priorities and service delivery, ensuring consistent, high quality and innovative digital video content, and fully utilising a wider range of relevant and appropriate media channels, software and hardware, in line with industry best practice.
The Senior Videographer will work within the EAtv service to develop, sreate and enhance digital video content to be used across EA channels to promote key projects & services tailored to our key audiences; to encourage meaningful engagement through video content; to provide excellent customer services; to grow channels; and to positively promote services provided by EA through social media communities with schools, youth services, parents and children and young people.
They will play a key role in supporting the development of a coherent narrative and digital video content library managed by EAtv. They will work closely with EA colleagues and wider Directorates and Service Teams to extract high quality briefs and develop video for a wide range of projects, services and campaigns.
They will provide expert video content advice to the wider EA Service teams to harness resources and build effective digital video content to achieve shared goals and support EA strategic objectives.
They will support the further development of internal communications channels to ensure the delivery of timely and effective video communications that meets the needs of many services.
The postholder will support the development, implementation and review overarching EAtv delivery model and support the implementation of new innovations, contributing to service development feeding EA strategies.
The postholder will carry out filming across EA locations, schools, EAtv studio and other venues throughout the region at key events followed by using professional post‑production techniques to edit captured material for use in a range of purposes.
They will lead on an annual programme of work, including the development and implementation of video content strategies; style guides and digital branding; video support for the EA services and projects; and innovative social media content including video content, podcasts and animations.
They will take a strategic and evidence based approach, setting targets and monitoring and analysing social media trends and techniques in order to measure and improve the effectiveness of the EAtv content. They will also lead on producing monthly reports, analysis and input for performance reports.
They will provide expert advice to the wider EAtv Team, EA Services and across other forums as required.
A key part of the role will be working closely with schools, children, parents/carers and wider sectoral partners to harness resources and build effective digital partnerships to achieve shared goals.
They will also support the further development of internal digital video content channels to ensure the delivery of timely and effective communications that meets the needs of the service.
Specifically, they will be responsible to the Head of EAtv and will work closely with Assistant Directors, Heads of Service, colleagues and teams to maximise all video content opportunities with partners and colleagues in schools and elsewhere to listen to, understand and promote the voice of children and young people, and champion the corporate vision, values and culture in all plans and activities.
The postholder will be expected to provide support and guidance for EAtv staff, including line management responsibilities as required.
Supporting a diverse range of EA Major Projects, and the Head of EAtv in all aspects of the planning and delivery of meaningful EA video content.
Work with stakeholders across the EA and externally to understand the strategic objectives and extract high quality briefs in order to produce supporting video content.
Ensure video content produced is engaging, inspiring and designed to meet strategic objectives and service provision.
Create and maintain a videography and editing planning calendar to ensure work is prioritised in line with objectives and as agreed with stakeholders.
Manage multiple video production projects simultaneously, establish priorities, work well under tight deadlines and maintain deadlines.
Suggest improvements to enhance the quality of video production and ensure professional continuity and high production values throughout.
Maintain productivity in a fast‑moving environment with changing priorities.
Working flexibly and closely with EAtv colleagues and the EA wider team across project boundaries, to develop, manage and implement specific video content to support key strategic projects and issues as required.
Reviewing, harnessing and maximising digital resources across the organisation.
Work independently on location to capture meaningful digital video footage.
Work independently and as part of a team in a multi‑camera bespoke studio and outside broadcast multi‑cam studio/event.
Advising and supporting EA service teams in developing a responsive, engaging and customer focussed approach to digital video content.
Creating consistent digital brands and clear voice across all productions.
Reviewing and analysing digital video server metrics to build reach, understand video consumption and engagement and enhance video reach.
Collaborate with other specialist staff including designers, web development and corporate ICT.
Present ideas to colleagues and stakeholders and take direction.
Use a wide range of existing and new professional camera technologies independently and as part of a team production team.
Use a wide range of existing professional video editing software independently to produce high level video content.
Produce digital video content for a wide range of purposes including eLearning platforms and social media outlets.
Developing, implementing and delivering an annual prioritised programme of activity, aligned to the overarching EdIS Communications Strategy.
Establishing baselines and targets as part of digital communications plans and reporting on outputs and outcomes on a monthly basis, feeding into the overall EdIS performance reports.
Providing strategic advice to Senior Management Teams, EA staff and schools and a range of senior staff in relation to complex, high profile developing issues, as well as planned proactive activities.
Developing strategic digital partnerships with schools, parents, children and young people and wider partners to build relationships, harness resources, and maximise reach and engagement.
Maintaining and enhancing the overall reputation of the EAtv Service through the provision of an effective, open and proactive function and approach.
Implementing digital plans for projects and initiatives, including leading on the production of a calendar of social media content and posts.
Supporting the organisation in the development of engaging content, including social media videos podcasts, animations, branding etc.
As required, attending events and visiting schools to take videos for internal and external channels.
Advising and supporting the EA Communications Team in developing a responsive, engaging and customer focussed approach to both reactive and proactive issues.
Creating a consistent digital brand and clear voice across all channels.
Reviewing and analysing social media metrics to build reach and engagement and enhance EAtv reach.
Reviewing, developing and updating content on the staff intranet, the EA website and other web‑based communications as required, ensuring consistency and alignment of branding and approach.
Building, developing and enhancing relationships with a range of key stakeholders, including schools, children and young people, our staff, parents/carers, sectoral partners (Department of Education, CCMS, CCEA, NICIE, CSSC etc) to strengthen opportunities for collaboration and enhancing the collective message.
Supporting communications plans and campaigns for EA projects and initiatives, working closely with the wider team, sectoral partners, and other stakeholders, as part of a multi‑channel and multi‑disciplinary approach.
Maintaining and enhancing the overall reputation of the Service through the provision of an effective, open and proactive media relations function to gain coverage and positive publicity.
Building strategic partnerships with schools, and establishing digital communities, to develop engagement and reach with school and youth service staff, parents/carers and children and young people. This will include developing resources for schools, guides and training.
Providing relevant training for teachers, principals and governors.
Supporting the delivery of innovative digital content for EdIS/EA staff.
Supporting the provision of an effective internal communications function for the Service, enabling staff to be kept well‑informed and engaged with the most important issues for them at work across a range of communications and engagement channels.
Supporting the delivery of strategic, informative and impactive internal and external publications.
Ongoing maintenance of all EAtv media library and filing systems to ensure that all EAtv activity is centrally recorded.
To line manage EAtv staff as required, supporting professional development. improving performance and helping staff reach their potential.
To set clear objectives, targets and expected deliverables.
To allocate key tasks to communications staff in line with the EAtv Delivery Model and key plans.
To provide professional video content support and direction to a range of staff from across the Service, as well as key partners, in the delivery of key priorities and projects.
To create new opportunities to broaden the communications and digital skill base of our teams across EAtv, providing advice, direction and guidelines for staff as appropriate in support of video content.
To monitor and review progress against targets, objectives and outcomes.
To liaise with the HR directorate regarding recruitment and selection processes and participate in selection panels as required.
To ensure that any spend on EAtv resources is in line with budget, procurement guidelines and EA policies and procedures.
To monitor any EAtv expenditure, ensuring propriety, regularity and value for money within the allocated budget.

The following are essential criteria which will initially be measured at the shortlisting stage and which may also be further explored during the interview/selection stage. Hold a bachelor’s degree (QCF Level 6) or an equivalent or higher qualification in a Digital, Video, Filmmaking, Communications, Media, or Marketing related subject and have two year’s demonstrable direct experience in a senior videographer/editor role*;
OR
Have a minimum of five years’ demonstrable direct experience in a videographer/editor role*.
*A senior videographer/editor role is defined as:
Leading on and advising staff in relation to at least three of the five following areas:
Professional Learning Video Content
Social media video content development
Digital Video marketing
Internal Video Communications
LMS Video Content.
Demonstrable experience of developing innovative digital video content to increase reach and engagement.
Shortlisting by Application Form
A high level of video production skills in all phases of production i.e. pre‑production planning, production filming and post‑production editing, using a range of professional standard video editing software applications, social media platforms, video server/hosting platforms as well as a high level skills in using video camera technology for capture.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including a proven ability to write, edit and present information for a range of audiences.
Shortlisting by Application Form
Ability to work flexibly outside of post holder’s normal working hours and take part in an on‑call rota as required and in line with business needs.
The successful candidate will be required:
to have access to a suitable vehicle (appropriately maintained and insured for Education Authority business) that will enable them to carry out the mobility requirements of the post in an efficient and effective manner and thus meet this essential criterion;
OR

A recognised professional qualification in Digital Video Production, Filmmaking, Communications, Media, Public Relations or Marketing.
Membership of a Professional Videography, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing body.
