Job description

The post holder will gain clinical and operative experience in upper limb surgery. The role will involve joining the on‑call rota (1 in 11 non‑resident on‑call) and participating in ward, clinic and operating lists under a supervising consultant, acting independently where required. The unit offers a range of arthroscopic and open procedures and the successful candidate will contribute to audit, research and training within the orthopaedic department. The department is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, with two wards (Bramshott and Ewhurst), four operating theatres with laminar flow and a Day Surgery Unit. The post will work under the supervision of senior orthopaedic surgeons: Mr Andrew Keightley, Mr Anthony Hearnden, Mr Sean Hughes and Mr James Logan, and will practice elective shoulder/elbow and hand/wrist surgery alongside upper limb trauma sessions.
