American International Group (AIG) in London seeks a Senior Underwriter to grow the Casualty book, focusing on Risk Managed clients and large/complex risks. You will underwrite new and renewal business, manage broker relationships, and tailor coverage with risk-engineering inputs to fit AIG's appetite.

You will work to uphold AIG's procedures, standards and service levels, contributing to a profitable book while mentoring less experienced underwriters and supporting training initiatives.

Make your mark in Casualty UK AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. Purpose of the role:

To contribute to the business by underwriting new and renewal business, developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing brokers, building strong client relationships and working to carry out agreed strategies within the General Casualty team. The main focus will be within the Risk Managed area of the Portfolio which captures large and complex clients who tailor coverage limits, deductibles and risk-engineering services to match the company's specific risk appetite.

How you'll make an impact:

• Ensure that AIG procedures are consistently implemented.
• Maintain AIG standards and service levels.
• Prepare bespoke policy documentation.
• Maintain focus on industry practices, developments and pricing.
• Produce accurate and timely management information for senior management.
• Underwrite and service risks to an acceptable AIG standard.
• Develop a profitable book of business through a selection of brokers.
• Make informed underwriting decisions within the authority delegated.
• Assist less experienced underwriters in the team and support training and development.
• Produce files for Self-Audits to the agreed AIG Casualty standards.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Ideally ACII qualified or working towards (or equivalent).
• Excellent knowledge of Casualty underwriting principles and practice.
• Excellent knowledge of Liability products.
• Proficient knowledge of key regulatory requirements.
• Proven general underwriting experience, preferably in Casualty lines.
• Excellent risk analysis and technical skills.
• Ability to build relationships with brokers and senior management.
