Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Lead Developer to shape digital services using Umbraco as the core CMS. You will set technical direction, lead development efforts, and mentor a team to deliver secure, accessible solutions across a diverse digital estate.

You will work with .NET, C#, and broader tech like Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Jadu Case Management to deliver value for residents and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Umbraco CMS and .NET/C#
• Ability to provide technical leadership across a broad digital estate
• Experience delivering secure, accessible, user‑focused digital services

Responsibilities

• Lead digital service development with Umbraco at the heart of web technology
• Mentor and develop other developers to raise standards and capability
• Set technical direction and standards for secure, scalable solutions
• Lead delivery end‑to‑end from design through testing and release
• Provide technical assurance by reviewing designs and code against requirements
• Modernise and reduce technical debt across legacy applications
• Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams and suppliers for joined‑up solutions
• Drive continuous improvement in services and development practices
