You will design and implement performance-critical code for our UI engine and collaborate with firmware for hardware-specific optimizations. This role targets engineers with 5+ years in systems programming, strong C++ (14/17/20), graphics API experience, and a passion for data-driven performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of software engineering with a heavy focus on C++ (C++14/17/20).
• Deep understanding of systems programming including memory management and multi-threading.
• Experience with graphics APIs and rendering pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python for tooling; BrightScript/JavaScript knowledge a plus.
• Strong root-cause analysis using tools like GDB or Valgrind.
• Experience applying AI tools to accelerate systems-level development.
• Proactive, performance-driven mindset for embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize core C++ UI frameworks and rendering engines for diverse hardware.
• Lead investigations into bottlenecks, memory leaks, and GPU/CPU sync issues.
• Develop and maintain low-level graphics APIs and layout systems for Roku apps.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities at the systems level to optimize code and profiling.
• Collaborate with firmware and driver teams for hardware-specific optimizations.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and architecture sessions.
• Build advanced debugging tools and automated performance suites.
