Job summary

Freeths seeks an experienced Managing Associate to join the Trusts, Estates and Tax team. The role is based in Nottingham, with potential for Sheffield or Birmingham as alternative locations.

You will supervise estate administration across diverse, high‑net‑worth matters and draft complex estate planning reports for business and land owners. The ideal candidate has 8–15 years PQE, strong commercial acumen, and is or intends to be STEP‑qualified.

Qualifications

• Directly relevant experience with PQE 8–15 years in trusts, estates or tax matters.
• Strong commercial acumen and industry understanding.
• Member of STEP or willing to pursue STEP qualifications.
• Proven track record in financial management, client satisfaction and sound case management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise administration of varied estates, including taxable and non-taxable, and estates with related trusts.
• Draft estate planning reports and work with business owners/landowners.
• Support senior leaders, contribute to business development, and manage junior staff on complex instructions.
