Job summary

Resourcing Group has a vacancy for a Trust & Tax Manager in a busy private client team at a leading law firm in Guildford. You will manage self-assessment returns, trust accounts, inheritance tax filings and HMRC correspondence, with a focus on precision and compliance across wills, probate, and estate administration.

The ideal candidate will be ATT/AAT qualified with strong experience in trusts and tax, excellent Excel skills, and familiarity with TaxCalc/Isokon.

Qualifications

• AAT or ATT qualification is required.
• Experience in a similar role in tax/trust matters.
• Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of self-assessment income tax returns and land disposal CGT returns for trusts, estates and individuals
• Preparation of annual trust accounts and associated annual compliance matters
• Preparation of inheritance tax returns in respect of exit charges, 10-year charges, and the termination of life interests
• Arranging payment of tax and corresponding with HMRC as required
• Dealing with FATCA and CRS compliance
• Registering trusts on HMRC's trust register and maintaining the register
• Liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, investment advisers and other professionals
• Attending annual trustee meetings where appropriate
