Job summary

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Triage and Treat Practitioner to provide focused triage and management for back and radicular pain within a team-based access point. The role supports junior staff, mentors colleagues, and aligns with service improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s level modules or short courses equivalent to master’s level with postgraduate specialist training.
• Portfolio demonstrating continued professional development.
• ILS or ALS provider, depending on clinical area.
• Drive to complete the MSc in advanced clinical practice and attain the AP MSc.
• Working towards and completing applicable credential routes for the clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat patients with back and/or radicular pain.
• Assess and manage patients appropriately within the team.
• Undertake and contribute to criteria-led discharge where available.
• Refer patients to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Manage and de-escalate difficult situations.
• Lead the team and act as a role model for junior staff.
• Contribute to service improvement and change management.
